Life on the banks of the Happines(blyde river)

Hi Folks.

This years Blyde Festival (13-15 Feb) will have a couple of new events on the menu.

The usual events of Beginner and Expert/Open Kayak races. Beginners on the Lower Blyde and the Experts/Opens will be paddling the Blyde River Canoyn (largest vegetated canoyn in the World, and the only way to see the inside is to paddle it) racing 3 of the biggest rapids in the canoyn. Then there will be a Croc Raft race and Gecko Tube race on the lower Blyde as well. (to see the race rapids http://playak.tv/view_video.php?viewkey=39fe37995fed127d7df4 )

New events hitting the festival will be a Night Freestyle Comp at Bura’s hole (trust the Blyde Boys to build a whole because there wasn’t one) and then also a Kayak Ramp Comp.

There will also be some MTB action for the folks that like sweat&mud.
