So I set off from Stack after talking to Martian and we agreed to meet in Laragh. On the way down there was the odd rain shower until we hit the hills behind Bray and then the heavens opened up the roads were more like rivers than roads. My heart started to pound when we hit Laragh car park people wear walking around nodding there heads saying no way, so I looked at the glen and I have never seen anything like it in my life there was a stopper at least 4 foot tall river wide. So after talking to some of my friends who advised not to run Annemoe we packed up and went to Rathdrum. On the way I was apologising saying sorry this may not be as good, I was wrong. After stopping on the bridge and looking over, the water was big and brown and pumping. We meet two guys I know and jumped on. We headed down and where meet by some of the biggest wave trains I have seen in Ireland for a while. Martin seemed to have the time of his life and pulled some very good moves, there were some near misses and some lucky get outs by us all. We scouted at all blind turns just to be safe the river journey was over all to fast but it was the best we could get with the levels so high. This river will go into the memory banks for the next floods .as a good runner.

This was my first race of this type. Total head down and do not look back. I did very well and was in second position until the last drop and could not see the bell and went into the wrong Eddie ,By the time I coped on I finished in 4 out of 5.Pissed to finish in forth after leading most of the way down and to loose it 15m from finish bell.
